Both are radically inventive films that play with our conceptions of time and narrative structures, whilst also featuring Hong\u2019s customarily incisive and humorous explorations of relationships, artistic endeavour, and communication (or miscommunication).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hong Sangsoo is one of contemporary cinema\u2019s most formally ambitious and insightful filmmakers. Despite regular celebration at festivals like Cannes and Berlin, and major retrospectives in New York, Paris, and London, in Finland his films have remained very difficult to see beyond a few festival screenings.
