BKS Presents #2
Radu Jude Double Bill @Cinema Orion
07.12.2025
Ahead of the release of Radu Jude’s latest Berlinale prize winning film Kontinental ’25 on 16th January 2026, BKS was thrilled to present in Cinema Orion a special double bill screening of Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn (2021) and The Tube with a Hat (2006).
With dozens of major festival awards – including from Berlin, Karlovy Vary, Locarno, and Sundance – Radu Jude is undeniably one of the most ground-breaking and distinctive voices in contemporary European cinema. With each new film he continues to challenge cinematic form and defy audience expectations.
Winner of the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival in 2021, Bad Luck Banging is an exuberantly rude and bawdy satire that breaks conventional narrative formatting and cuts deep at the heart of Romanian society. The Berlin jury praised the film for having the “rare and essential quality of a lasting artwork”, and stated that it “captures on screen the very content and essence, the mind and body, the values and the raw flesh of our present moment in time”.
The Tube with a Hat, Radu Jude’s debut short film, won more than 50 international awards. It is an almost perfectly formed slice of neorealism with a gently propulsive narrative tension, and it showcases the extraordinary breadth of Jude’s creativity that was present right from the beginning of his filmmaking career.
